Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: What advice, if any, has the Minister received that suggests the new vocational education and training model will help to make the network of regional polytechnic provision more sustainable, as outlined in the Tertiary Education Strategy, by date and title?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I have not received specific advice. However, the new vocational education and training model returns decision-making to the regions, making polytechnics more relevant and responsive to community needs and the local labour market.
