59172 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: What role, if any, will Mātauranga Māori play in the International Education Going for Growth Plan, with respect to the vocational training sector?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The International Education Going for Growth Plan does not explicitly provide any requirements for the vocational training sector. The Government will be working with the sector to develop the Government Policy Statement on International Education, which will set out the pathway for achieving the goals set out in the plan. This may include consideration of how Mātauranga Māori can play a role in the growth of international education.
