59155 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Education: What is the timeline for the release of the refreshed relationships and sexuality education framework?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) developed the draft Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) framework for consultation with the public. Consultation took place from 11 April to 9 May 2025. Feedback from consultation and the draft RSE framework itself helped inform the development of the draft Health and Physical Education learning area for Years 0 to 10. This learning area contains RSE curriculum content and was released for consultation on 28 October 2025. The feedback period is open until 24 April 2026. There is no new version of the RSE framework. The draft Health and Physical Education learning area includes the age-appropriate RSE content to be covered in school.
