59148 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Education: What advice, information or any other form of communication, if any, has the Minister received from the Minister for Vocational Education and Training about the role Industry Skills Boards will have in the NCEA curriculum replacement, by date and title?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Ministry of Education is responsible for providing advice to both the Minister for Vocational Education and myself regarding our respective portfolios. The following advice about the role of Industry Skill Boards in the NCEA replacement proposals was provided to both Ministers: • 7 March 2025 – Report: Strengthening NCEA - a subject-based approach • 2 April 2025 - Report: Scoping the report back on the implications of VET redesign for learners • 4 June 2025 – Report: Strengthening NCEA - further advice on attainment requirements • 17 June 2025 – Report: Final Cabinet paper – Proposed establishment of ITPs • 30 September 2025 – Report: Replacing NCEA - approach to VET and Careers Budget 2026 initiatives • 6 November 2025 – Report: Replacing NCEA – direction on scale of VET initiatives. This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 59150 and 59151 (2025).
