Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister for Social Investment: What safeguards, if any, are in place to prevent Round 1 social investment initiatives from further entrenching stigma and surveillance of already marginalised families, particularly Māori, Pacific and disabled children, and how will those safeguards be independently evaluated?

Hon Nicola Willis: Social investment is defined by effective prevention and early intervention based on data and evidence. It does not target or surveil families based on ethnicity or disability, but instead identifies need and measures success in addressing that need through agreed outcomes.
