58781 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Associate Minister of Education: Did the Minister receive any feedback or opposition from ECE sector groups, unions, or parent organisations regarding the licensing criteria changes; if so, what were the key concerns raised?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised that the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) consulted on proposed changes to licensing criteria between June and July 2025. Participants were invited to complete a survey and provide written feedback. Individuals and groups also made submissions. The consultation report, which summarises feedback and key concerns, will be published on education.govt.nz in February 2026.
