58745 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: How many NZeTA applications in the last five financial years triggered a risk or anomaly flag requiring manual review?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that since 1 June 2021 there have been 79,676 NZeTA's that have been referred for manual review. Common reasons as to why something falls into manual review include that the individual has declared a criminal conviction, the photo submitted with the NZeTA failed to pass the photo quality checker or there is an active alert or warning on the Immigration system against the individual.
