Hon Erica Stanford: The Immigration Act 2009 provides the statutory authority to set fees to recover the costs of processing visa applications, requests for a New Zealand electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA), and other related immigration services. Immigration fees are product-specific and reflect the average direct and indirect costs of assessing and processing each immigration product. Direct costs include workforce, while indirect costs include ICT, contact centre, and property. I have no Ministerial responsibility for the IVL.
