58722 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: How many requests for NZeTA refunds have been received and approved each year since its introduction?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that there was approximately 3600 NZeTA refunds in 2023, 1700 in 2024 and 1600 in 2025. Due to the manual calculations required to answer this question we are only able to provide an estimate of refunds processed. Exact numbers of received and approved data would require further time and it would not be in teh public interest to divert staff from core roles.
