58721 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: How many cases of suspected identity or document fraud were detected via the NZeTA system in each of the last five years?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that data on suspected identity fraud for NZeTA applications only started being captured for reporting purposes from 26 August 2024. Between 26 August to 31 December 2024 there were 157 identity fraud cases recorded and between 1 January to 16 December 2025 there were 246 identity fraud cases recorded.
