58692 (2025). Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Associate Minister of Education
Written Question

58692 (2025). Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Associate Minister of Education: Is he concerned that the Bangerz Education and Wellbeing Trust had, as part of their now withdrawn bid to convert Kelston Boys High School to a charter school, set up a “regular weekday morning “desk” at the local McDonalds from about 8.00am where students have dropped in before school to ask about the difference a charter school would make”, if not, why not?
Hon David Seymour: Whether a sponsor meets the criteria for approval to operate a charter school, including the level of community support, is a matter for the independent Charter School Authorisation Board.
This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 58693 and 58694 (2025).
