Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Associate Minister of Education: Were Charter School Agency officials concerned that the Bangerz Education and Wellbeing Trust had, as part of their now withdrawn bid to convert Kelston Boys High School to a charter school, set up a “regular weekday morning “desk” at the local McDonalds from about 8.00am where students have dropped in before school to ask about the difference a charter school would make”, if not, why not?

Hon David Seymour: It is up to the applicant how they conduct any consultation as part of their application. The application provided findings from Bangerz Education and Wellbeing Trust consultation with students and parents, not the means by which they gathered it. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 58690 (2025).
