58677 (2025). Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Associate Minister of Education: On what date, if any, did Ministry of Education officials first become aware that as part of their application to convert Kelston Boys High School to a charter school, the Bangerz Education and Wellbeing Trust had discussed setting up an “in-school jail”?

Hon David Seymour: The Ministry of Education (the Ministry) local office was not aware of this information. The Ministry is not involved in the early stages of a charter school application and would not usually be aware of meetings held between trusts/agencies. This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 58679 and 58681 (2025).
