Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on christmas, holiday, end of year, and any other types of celebratory functions or parties during November and December in 2022?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Ministry of Transport has advised that $6,430.90 (excluding GST) was spent on the end-of-year staff Christmas function during the period from November to December 2022. I am also advised by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) that it does not directly fund any social events, including for the end of year period. However, NZTA does make a $50 per annum contribution per employee to various social clubs across the different offices. The allocation and use of funds for particular activities is determined by each individual social club committee.
