Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Media and Communications: How much, if any, has the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, budgeted on christmas, holiday, end of year, and any other types of celebratory functions or parties during November and December in 2025?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the departments, agencies, crown entities, and other bodies that I am responsible for report spend for functions and parties (if any) through departmental ‘Other operating expenses’ or ‘Other expenses’ in their annual reports. This covers all operating expenditure that is not readily classified under another category. To extract the information at the level of detail requested by the member would impact the day-to-day functions of these bodies and therefore I do not believe it is in the public interest to do so. I refer the member to the attached table for annual report references to other expenses for 2020/2021 to 2024/25.
