Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What is the anticipated date of completion of the of ‘Manaaki Hōhonu - Construction of inpatient ward and ICU, Waitākere Hospital’ project as a whole, as part of Te Whatu Ora’s Infrastructure and Investment projects, as at 16 September 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the anticipated date of practical completion for this project is August 2026. I am further advised that completion has been delayed due to Stage 1 works, and the budget uplift approval process. Forecasted completion dates may be subject to change based on various factors, including system/cost pressures, necessary approvals, etc. There are key stage gates where accuracy of an estimate is enhanced, these are generally at business case decision, at the end of each design phase and main contract award.
