Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Land Information: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on christmas, holiday, end of year, and any other types of celebratory functions or parties during November and December in 2021?

Hon Chris Penk: In 2021, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) offered a per-head contribution of $25 to staff to recognise the end of the year. This was available to all staff in Wellington, Christchurch, and Hamilton (where LINZ’s offices are located), used only once per employee and was for food and non-alcoholic beverages. The total cost of the LINZ contribution was $13,061. The 2021 contribution was an increase compared with previous years to recognise that due to Covid19 limitations on gatherings, staff had very few opportunities to get together to recognise achievements during the year. There was no spending on other celebratory functions in November and December 2021.
