Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Land Information: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on christmas, holiday, end of year, and any other types of celebratory functions or parties during November and December in 2022?

Hon Chris Penk: In 2022, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) offered a per-head contribution of $15 to staff to recognise the end of the year. This was available to all staff in Wellington, Christchurch, and Hamilton (where LINZ’s offices are located), used only once per employee and was for food and non-alcoholic beverages. The total cost of the LINZ contribution was $11,077. The spend for other types of celebratory functions in November and December in 2022 was $1,879.85 for long service awards, $512.78 for a recognition event for people leaders and $455.35 for work milestone recognition events.
