Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) that the Department spent $7,247 on Christmas, holiday, end of year, and any other types of celebratory functions or parties during November and December in 2020. The Department allowed for up to $20 per employee to be used for the Christmas, holiday, end of year, and any other types of celebratory functions or parties in the 2020/21 financial year. Listed below is the spend on Christmas, holiday, end of year, and any other types of celebratory functions or parties for the other portfolios I am responsible for: - Lotto NZ - $6,617; - Classification Office - $1547; and - Fire and Emergency New Zealand - Refer to question 58276 (2025). Note: celebrations were limited due to Covid restrictions.
