Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made as at 16 September 2024, on the action ‘Facilitate succession planning’ under ‘Goal 3: Building flexible and sustainable career pathways’ within the BreastScreen Aotearoa Workforce Development Strategy 2022 – 2032?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that as at 16 September, Health New Zealand has made funding available for a medical physicist fellowship, and continued to scope opportunities to fund fellowships for medical imaging technologists. I am further advised that Health NZ already offers two fellowships to radiologists annually, and that it is working with the transforming radiology programme to scope additional funding for radiology fellowships.
