Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made as at 16 September 2024, on the action ‘Keep informed on risk-based screening and AI technology’ under ‘Goal 4: Looking to the workforce of the future‘ within the BreastScreen Aotearoa Workforce Development Strategy 2022 – 2032?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that as at 16 September, Health New Zealand continued to keep itself informed by reviewing evidence from studies relating to risk-based screening approaches and Artificial Intelligence technologies, including where these are being utilised across the health system. I am further advised that BSA is informed on these issues by the Breast Cancer Foundation as part of their partnership.
