58199 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does he agree with national chairperson of the College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Dr Hiran Thabrew that with the Access and Choice scheme “very little funding was allocated for workforce numbers and training... This is the most important issue for the current Government to address”; if so, what, if anything, will he do to address this?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that growing the mental health and addiction workforce is a priority for this government, as stated in our mental health priorities and targets.
