Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the Minister agree with Clinical psychologist Dr Dougal Sutherland that “prior to the election, National was going to increase psychologists and psychiatrists and now it's ‘a mental health workforce’. They need to be at that skilled end of the spectrum”; if so, what, if anything, will he do to attract such professionals?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that growing the mental Health and addiction workforce is a priority for this government, as evidenced by a dedicated mental health target. I am further advised that the mental health and addiction workforce includes psychologists and psychiatrists.
