58185 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Has Oranga Tamariki's Quality Practice Tool been finalised?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the Quality Practice Tool (QPT) is one of a number of key mechanisms that form part of the quality assurance system around social work and professional practice in Oranga Tamariki. It is intended to be used to support operational oversight and continuous improvement of aspects of practice in frontline sites and teams. The QPT has continued to be refined and adapted as wider enhancements have been made to both the practice quality assurance system and the operating model within Oranga Tamariki. It sits alongside other systematic processes for understanding and assuring practice quality, including routine case file analysis of practice carried out by the Chief Social Worker and Professional Practice group against key requirements set out in practice standards, policy, and guidance.
