58176 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Has a decision been made regarding inclusion of the health sector in the Child Protection Protocol alongside Oranga Tamariki and NZ Police, and if not, when will it be?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the Child Protection Protocol (CPP) review cycle is now in the final stages of considering the recommendation of Te Whatu Ora – Health NZ joining CPP. I am unable to provide a date when the decision will be made as this is subject to senior leaders from NZ Police, Te Whatu Ora – Health NZ and Oranga Tamariki making that decision.
