Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that the Ministry of Education’s total expenditure for end of year events in November and December 2022 was $51,973 excluding GST. This reflected a budget of $23 per head. Education New Zealand did not fund any end of year events in November and December 2022. This reflected a budget of $15 per head. New Zealand Qualifications Authority’s total expenditure for end of year events in November and December 2022 was $5,040 excluding GST. NZQA’s practice every year has been to make an allowance of between $5 to $15 per head. The Education Review Office’s total expenditure for end of year events for November and December 2022 was $5,675 including GST. This reflects $25 per a fixed and permanent employee, as per ERO’s policy.
