58113 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: What resources, if any, will be made available to protect the poultry industry in the event of an incursion of avian flu?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I am advised the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is in regular contact with both the Poultry Industry Association New Zealand and Egg Producers Federation industry bodies, as well as individual companies, including a recent joint fact-finding trip to Australia and the UK, to understand the requirements of an HPAI Response. MPI is holding workshops with industry to clarify the sharing of resources in an HPAI response and identify any additional resources required, to minimise the impacts of the disease and ensure the best possible outcomes for export markets and domestic food security.
