58033 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Is the Minister considering raising the statutory cap on the number of High Court judges?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised the Ministry is currently investigating whether additional permanent judges may be required to enable the High Court to better manage its workload. Raising the statutory cap on the number of High Court Judges would require a legislative change.
