58009 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: Who, if anyone, identified the Creatives in Schools Programme as a possible savings initiative for Budget 2024, and what was their reasoning, if any, for proposing that programme as a possible savings initiative?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Creatives in Schools programme was identified as a possible savings initiative for Budget 2024 through a line-by-line review of the Ministry of Education’s non-departmental spending. In Budget 2024 priority for funding was given to initiatives that were directly connected to my current priorities for education, which focus on lifting achievement and closing the equity gap in reading, writing, maths, and science.
