58006 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Associate Minister of Health: Does she agree with Aged Care Association chief executive Tracey Martin that, if more seniors are to stay at home and not go into residential care, there would need to be the workforce to support this; if so, what, if anything, will she do to address this?

Hon Casey Costello: Regardless of where New Zealanders receive care there needs to be an adequate workforce to deliver that care. I am advised that projections from Health NZ have informed Health NZ’s Workforce Strategy Plan and am confident older New Zealanders will receive the care they need, where and when they need it.
