58004 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Associate Minister of Health: Does the Minister agree with Aged Care Association chief executive Tracey Martin's concerns that Te Whatu Ora have been instructed to save 200,000 hospital bed nights per year, and to do that, they need people to stay out of hospital and residential care; if so, what, if anything, will she do to address this?
Hon Casey Costello: Health New Zealand has not been instructed to save 200,000 hospital bed days per year, nor has it been suggested that people need to stay out of hospital or residential care.
