57995 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Justice: Will the Minister take into account rights under the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act, including right to life, when considering arms reform?

Hon Nicole McKee: The rights and freedoms contained in the Bill of Rights, including the right to life and security of the person, are front and centre in all my considerations. That is why I have been and remain clear that the firearms reform is first and foremost about enhancing public safety.
