57994 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister of Conservation: What work, if any, is underway to amend and/or reform the Conservation Act 1987?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation advises me that policy work and public consultation on the Conservation Management and Processes discussion document was undertaken during the previous term of Government. This work proposed to amend the Conservation Act 1987, the Reserves Act 1977 and the National Parks Act 1980. I have received advice from officials on this previous work and I am considering how to progress in line with my priorities.
