57942 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: Who, if anyone, has the sole authority to direct to convert a state school to a charter school?

Hon Erica Stanford: A state school cannot be directed to convert to a charter school. However, the Education and Training Amendment Bill provides the Minister of Education with the ability to direct the board of a state school to make an application to the Authorisation Board to convert to a charter school.
