57937 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Transport: What are the holiday shut down dates, if any, for the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, during the 2025-26 holiday period?

Hon James Meager: Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) operates a 365 day per year service. Maritime New Zealand’s Rescue Coordination Centre (RCCNZ), response functions and other core activities are operational over the holiday period. All other staff take leave from Thursday 25 December 2025 to Sunday 11 January 2026 inclusive. A small number of staff with time-critical tasks to complete will return to work from 5 January. Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) Closes: 22 December 2025 Reopens: 5 January 2026
