57936 (2024). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: Did the employment agreements supplied to support the application for visas for non-resident workers to work on the vessel Manahau meet New Zealand statutory employment standards, if applications were made and employment agreements were supplied?
Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that employment agreements were provided with the applications for non-resident workers to work on the Manahau vessel and these were checked by immigration officers as part of the standard process and at the time were deemed to meet minimum employment standards. Immigration New Zealand has subsequently referred the employment agreements to the Labour Inspectorate for their review.
