57922 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: When, if ever, has the Secretary of Education used their powers under section 82(1) of the Education and Training Act 2020; listed by instances of powers used?

Hon Erica Stanford: Under Section 82(1) of the Education and Training Act 2020, directed enrolments may be exercised by the Secretary of Education when required. I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that since July 1999, records in the Ministry database indicate direction for enrolment has occurred over 2,800 times. Further information regarding directed enrolment can be requested from the Ministry.
