57804 (2024). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister intend to use a criteria to evaluate whether the Commerce Commission is being a "courageous litigator" and if so, when does he expect this evaluation to occur?
Hon Andrew Bayly: Whether the Commerce Commission is a ‘courageous litigator’ is a judgement. It is not simply about the number of cases it is taking, but the kinds of cases it is taking and the circumstances in each case. I don’t intend to set fixed criteria or carry out a formal evaluation. The Commerce Commission’s performance is assessed as part of its normal accountability arrangements.
