57605 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Corrections: What are the holiday shut down dates, if any, for the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, during the 2025-26 holiday period?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am assured – and it is my expectation – that robust processes and arrangements are in place to maintain uninterrupted business continuity throughout the holiday period. Corrections operates on a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week basis, regardless of whether individual public-facing sites are physically open or closed over the holiday period. Given there are more than 200 locations within scope of the question, I am not prepared to ask Corrections to undertake a site-by-site consultation to determine specific opening and closing dates, for the purpose of responding to this question. However, I am assured that public safety and effective delivery of core services remain the highest priority for Corrections irrespective of the time of year.
