57517 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Did the Ministry of Education seek other bids for the contract that The Learning First Group Pty Limited was awarded in the financial year 2024/2025; if so, how many?

Hon Erica Stanford: A market scan was undertaken to identify providers with the capability to undertake comparisons of a range of international curricula, with a focus on knowledge rich curriculum and approaches. The scan found this expertise was not available within the existing providers in New Zealand. Learning First was selected because it offered the specialist knowledge required, including in international comparison I note that the Ministry of Education has also engaged with 95 schools and universities, 76 suppliers and 95 individuals to support the work underway to strengthen the National Curriculum. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 57524 (2025).
