57505 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Associate Minister of Education: How many early childhood education (ECE) services have reported concerns or confirmed findings of asbestos contamination in play sand since 2023?

Hon David Seymour: As at 10 December 2025, I am advised that 63 Early Childhood Education centres have informed the Ministry of Education that they had a recalled sand product in their service. The Ministry of Education does not hold information on how many Early Childhood Learning services have confirmed findings of asbestos contamination within their centres.
