57497 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Associate Minister of Education: Will the Minister commit to a nationwide audit of play sand sources used in ECE centres to ensure there are no ongoing risks from asbestos contamination?

Hon David Seymour: Regulation 46 of the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations 2008 already requires licensed providers to: • take all reasonable steps to promote the health and safety of enrolled children • ensure that premises, facilities, and equipment are maintained in good repair, used safely, and kept free from hazards.
