57488 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: What inter-agency collaboration, if any, has occurred between WorkSafe, the Ministry for the Environment, and Customs to manage the possible importation of asbestos-contaminated sand?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by WorkSafe New Zealand that both Customs and the Ministry for the Environment have been engaged in cross-agency discussions on the current situation. However, matters of asbestos importation sit outside the Workplace Relations and Safety portfolio.
