57477 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What steps, if any, are being taken to ensure equitable access to gynaecological oncology diagnostic tests and specialist care in regions with limited gynaecological oncology services?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that, as the Member will be aware, gynaecological oncology specialist services are provided regionally in Auckland, Wellington, and Canterbury with patients referred from their local gynaecological services to the three regional Multi Disciplinary Meetings (MDM). Patients are prioritised at the MDM based on clinical need to ensure appropriate access as part of our focus on putting patients first and ensuring all New Zealanders have access to timely, quality healthcare.
