Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Further to his reply to Question 44582 (2025), how many of the 237 properties recorded in the Kāinga Ora Business Initiated Transfer Register in 2024/25 for the reason of divestment had been sold by 30 November 2025 and how many of them were classified as removed from service pending divestment?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that for the financial year 2024/25, there are 237 Business Initiated Transfers recorded in its system for the reason of divestment. As at 31 December 2025, 155 of those properties have been sold, and 79 were removed from service pending divestment. Of these, 77 are in the sales process, one in the redevelopment process and one in the demolition process.
