56645 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Vocational Education: How many plants, broken down by species or type, have been hired by each entity for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, and what were the suppliers and locations for each installation, broken down by month?
Hon Penny Simmonds: The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) hired approximately 292 plants for its Wellington office from November 2023 to June 2024. TEC reduced its Wellington office footprint by one floor at the end of June 2024. So, the number of plants reduced to approximately 262 in June 2024 and remained at that level since. The plants are a mix of: • Phalaenopsis Orchid • Dracaena Compacta • Dracaena Canes Dorardo • Kentia Palm • Zamioculcas Zamifolia Due to TEC’s service agreement with Ambius (part of Rentokil Initial Limited), it has a plant replacement agreement, so month on month the exact make up of these plants may change.
