Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). I advise for the period 27 November 2023 to 30 November 2025, the annual total costs for the supply and maintenance of plants for DPMC workspaces in Wellington is set out below: Financial Years 2023/24 (from 27 November 2023) 2024/25 2025/26 (to 30 November 2025) 3,436.70 $8,143.80 $3,393.25 DPMC contracts Catalyst Plants Ltd for the provision and maintenance of currently 150 plants for its workspaces. Regarding the species of the plants, I am advised by DPMC that this information is not held in a format that can easily be extracted within the time frame. I am advised Government House on occasion, hired plants during this time for events as a non-departmental cost as part of the Governor-General’s official programme. Expenses related to the Governor-General’s official programme in New Zealand are funded by a permanent legislative authority under section 13 of the Governor-General Act 2010. By long-standing practice, the details of individual costs relating to official events by the Governor-General are not released publicly. The total budgeted and actual annual programme costs of the Governor-General are set out in the annual report of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
