56554 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, has Te Whatu Ora taken in the last three months to 9 September 2024 to improve pay and conditions for general practitioners?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that on 1 July 2024, Health New Zealand increased general practice revenue by 5.88%, via a 4% capitation increase and a 7.76% allowable fee increase, and increased the 2023 funding provided to increase nurses pay rates by 2.51% to help general practices meet cost pressures, including wage cost pressures.
