Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward implementing the recommendation ‘Consider how to respond to requests for peer support networks. Although providing peer support falls outside the remit of HealthCERT, there may be a place for indirectly supporting the establishment of peer support networks’ under ‘Recommendations for HealthCERT and other stakeholders’ in the ‘Ngā Paerewa Implementation Evaluation’ independent report?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that no progress was made toward this recommendation in the quarter April to June 2024. As noted, this falls outside the remit of HealthCERT, and therefore won’t be a programme of work driven by HealthCERT. HealthCERT has not received any requests regarding these networks, however where peer support networks are known about, they can be promoted in the HealthCERT bulletin to share the knowledge more widely.
