Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward implementing the recommendation ‘Explore ways for struggling providers and DAAs to understand and access existing cultural supports’ under ‘Recommendations for HealthCERT and other stakeholders’ in the ‘Ngā Paerewa Implementation Evaluation’ independent report?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised no progress was made toward this recommendation in the quarter April to June 2024. This has been noted as a potential area of exploration and work but will need to be prioritised in line with other HealthCERT work, noting that this is not part of a core regulatory role. This issue will be taken into consideration when reviewing Ngā Paerewa in the future.
